The pulmonary and respiratory health services at Medical Center Enterprise specialize in lung care. We focus on detecting, monitoring and treating lung-related issues.
At Medical Center Enterprise, we provide a wide variety of services. Our respiratory therapists help manage the patients with respiratory problems and also provide diagnostics for cardiac and neurological patients.
Electrocardiogram (EKG) - A test that records the electrical impulses traveling through the heart to evaluate the heart's function, to determine the presence of abnormal electrical impulses and to detect heart damage.
Pulmonary Function Test - A series of tests that measure lung function and provide information about the amount of air a person's lungs can hold and how effectively the lungs work. This test can be used to diagnose respiratory conditions including asthma.
Cardiac Stress Test - A noninvasive procedure performed on a treadmill to help diagnose heart disease. More extensive studies are combined with radioisotopes.
Electroencephalogram (EEG) - A test used to detect abnormalities in the brain waves or electrical activity of the brain.
Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) - A blood test used to evaluate the lungs' ability to provide blood with oxygen and remove carbon dioxide. Also used to measure the pH (acidity) of the blood.
Each of these tests have specific instructions that the patient must follow in order to get accurate results, so it is important that they are scheduled ahead of time with our department by their doctor.
