Enterprise, AL – Medical Center Enterprise has announced that Chief Executive Officer Joey Hester has decided to retire in September, concluding a distinguished 50 year career marked by steadfast leadership and a deep commitment to the Wiregrass community.
Since joining Medical Center Enterprise in 2022, Hester has led the hospital through periods of growth, transformation and opportunity, always maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families throughout the region. During his tenure, the hospital strengthened physician relationships, expanded services and enhanced its role as a trusted healthcare provider for Coffee County and surrounding communities.
“Serving Medical Center Enterprise and the people of this community has been one of the greatest honors of my career,” said Hester. “I am incredibly grateful to our board of trustees, physicians, employees and community partners for their support and dedication. Together, we have accomplished so much, and I am confident the hospital is well-positioned for continued success in the years ahead. While this marks the end of my professional chapter, Deb and I are excited to continue calling Enterprise home and look forward to remaining active members of this wonderful community.”
Throughout his career, Hester has been recognized for his collaborative leadership style and his commitment to fostering a culture centered on quality, compassion and service. His dedication to employees, physicians and patients helped shape Medical Center Enterprise into the organization it is today.
“Joey’s leadership and commitment to our mission have made a lasting impact on Medical Center Enterprise and the communities we serve,” said Dr. Patrick Lett, chair of the Medical Center Enterprise board of trustees. “We are so appreciative of his years of service and wish him and his family all the best in this well-deserved retirement.”
